Security & Data

Your jobs. Your customers. Your business data.

DecorMatePro is being designed with security, privacy and sensible access control in mind from the development stage rather than adding them later.

This page describes design principles and planned safeguards. It does not claim that every future control is already implemented.

Development principle

Security should support the product quietly in the background.

Painters and decorators should not need to become IT specialists to keep their business information organised and protected.

What is being designed for

Practical safeguards for a real trade business.

Secure accounts

Future sign-in and account access will be designed around appropriate authentication, password handling and recovery processes.

Controlled team access

Larger companies may need different permissions for owners, estimators, foremen and operatives. Access should match each role.

Protected connections

Data sent between the app and its services should use appropriate encrypted connections and trusted service providers.

Data minimisation

Only information that is genuinely needed for the product should be collected and retained for an appropriate period.

Backup and recovery

Customer and business information should not depend on one device. Backup, recovery and sync behaviour will need to be tested before launch.

Privacy by design

Customer details, photographs, measurements and quotations should be handled with clear purpose, access and retention rules.

Before launch

Controls will need to be tested—not simply described.

Before public accounts or commercial services launch, security testing, data mapping, permissions, supplier arrangements, backups, privacy controls and incident processes will need to be reviewed against the final technical architecture.
